Time to Move on
That’s it, I’m done with Meta. I’m ready to return to the old days of the personal blog. I have already deleted my facebook account, and I will delete Instagram and Threads in the coming weeks. For those who want to keep up with my photography, I will now be sharing it on Bluesky and including it in articles on my website.
I have expressed my opinions on the algorithms and the AI slop before so I don’t feel like I need to write a whole essay on the matter. What I do want to bring up as the straw that broke the camel’s back is what Zuck himself has been up to with his new look and full-throated support for the fascists who took over the White House. While I always thought he was the incarnation of a limp, wet handshake, it appears that the robotic boy has now grown into a rebellious teenager, with his broccoli hair, his golden chains, his douchy sunglasses and the oversized shirts he wears to conceal his scrawny stature.
Zuck, who is now worth two hundred and some billion dollars, has decided to side with the neo nazis in D.C., either out of cowardice, or to be able to further enrich himself, or simply to get revenge on the world because he’s bitter that he couldn’t get laid until he made his first billion. He has sucked up to His Orange Majesty by removing fact checking from his platform to allow the spread of disinformation and hate speech, and went on Rogan to say that the corporate world needed more masculine energy. Ironically, in the same interview, he also whined about people being mean to him. Make no mistake: Mark Zuckerberg is no man. He may be playing tough but the awkwardness with which he does so rats out his insecurity. All he is, is an emotionally stunted dork with no personality and even less charisma, and no amount of money will ever make anyone like him. He may be successful in terms of wealth, but he is an absolute failure of a human being.
He may be one of the richest people to ever walk the face of God’s green earth, but it’s still not enough to fill the void that lays where his soul should be. His greed is insatiable. He made his fortune selling your personal data and given how low he is willing to go to grow his net worth, I think it’s fair to say it’s unsafe to continue to let him have it. It’s time for people to turn away from him and everything he touches, even if it’s hard, even if it means remembering how we used to interact and keep in touch before Facebook. Sometimes, you just need to rip the band-aid off and push through the pain. I promise it’s only temporary!
With that being said, I’m looking forward to trying something different, and maybe we’ll meet again on another platform one of these days. Oh, and one last thing: go fuck yourself, Zuck!
